Our HR team at Outplay is focused on creating a supportive culture of excellence, where everyone has the opportunity to achieve their potential. 

We are currently hiring for a pragmatic, experienced HR Business Partner to join our ambitious team and deliver commercially focused people partnering to our highly talented team. 

An integral part of our HR team and as a business partner to our department managers, you will lead and deliver tailored HR initiatives and advice for the teams you support.

Desired skills and experience 

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships: Cultivate positive connections with Leads and Managers to create a collaborative and engaging work environment.
  • Leadership coaching: Guide managers, ensuring their leadership style aligns with our culture and enhances the overall employee experience.
  • Collaborate with the HR team: Work closely with the HR team to review and evolve employment practices, ensuring they meet our aspirations for employee experience.
  • Drive performance management: Develop and implement effective performance management strategies, equipping managers with the skills for quality conversations and goal achievement.
  • Coach on people-related matters: Guide leaders on talent assessment, development, succession planning, organisation effectiveness, and characteristics of high-performing teams.
  • HR metrics and insights: Design, monitor, and measure HR metrics/KPIs to drive key insights and decisions that support growth and retention.
  • Employee development: Enhance employee development throughout the year by providing coaching, mentoring, and timely feedback.
  • Champion HR initiatives: Align HR initiatives with ESG strategies and contribute to the overall success of the organisation.
  • Communication and collaboration: Facilitate effective communication, collaboration, and engagement across all areas of the business, including opportunities to network with the wider games community. 


  • Proven experience in HR business partnering, preferably within the gaming or tech industry, however an interest in learning about this sector is also a plus.
  • Strong coaching and leadership development skills.
  • Builds and maintains strong working relationships across all areas of the business
  • Ability to understand and respond to the varying needs of the teams you will support
  • Highly passionate about learning and development and can utilise their experience to ensure our team's progress and access opportunities to evolve their skills and personal development.
  • Committed to delivering positive initiatives that further our ESG activities, within Outplay and the wider games industry.
  • Highly experienced and confident in providing trusted operational advice on all HR and employment law matters.
  • Ensures HR policies and processes are implemented fairly and consistently.
  • Passionate about HR best practices and solutions focused.
  • Ability to source, interpret and respond to data and trends. As well as create informative accurate reports.
  • Truly invested and driven to create positive working experiences for all.
  • Flexible in approach and able to always deliver a balanced view. 
  • Games industry or similar sector experience  
  • CIPD Qualified or studying towards qualification
